Title: Temperature no longer updates for Trane Z-Wave thermostat
Post by: coderunner on June 20, 2015, 06:20:22 pm
I have a Trane TZEMT400BB3NX thermostat that was working fine previously, but no longer updates the temperature on any of the interfaces (LCD UI, web UI, or Android UI). (Currently the thermostat says 77 while all three Almond+ UIs say 75).  The set points work fine, and notifications are working when the fan turns on, etc.  I was previously on R72, and it was after updating to R80 that I noticed the temperature stopped updating.

Same thing happened on my 2gig CT100.

IF you are certain this is an R80 issue, post up in the R80 issues thread.

http://forum.securifi.com/index.php/topic,3394.0.html

There were a few things in R80 that reduced functionality/accurate sensor reporting to the apps (ios/android). Having them report incorrectly to the LCD is more troubling.

Might consider calling support as well.

This problem needs to be addressed in the next firmware drop because it was working before.

We have not made any major changes with the Z-wave on R80, however, it seems like the temperature would update on the UI's only if it is increased to a 3%. For eg: If is going from 75 to 78 then it would update, and if it goes from 75 to 76 or 77 then it won't update.

Thanks Ashok. I was about to reply to this thread as well. I don't recall before R80, but when I checked, it does look like the temperature in the app is different from the display on my CT-101.

Any particular reason for the 3% change? Is that a z-wave thing or is it a Almond UI decision ?

Seems like my CT100 updated every 1 degree at some point. Maybe even .5 degrees. It used to notify me via Android app for every (or almost every) change.

My Trane Z-Wave thermostat definitely updated at every degree as I was receiving notifications throughout the day when the temperature would change.  I consider this a downgrade/bug.  Is there a reason for the change?  Can we adjust the % change required to update the Almond+ interfaces?  I would like the Almond+ interfaces to be as accurate as the thermostat's display.

@ All,

This would be taken care through our next release and Temperature would be displayed real time on all the UI's.

When do you think you will release that firmware to us beta-testers?

@ sfalc,

I am not completely sure, but it may take at least 2 weeks of time.
