I've had intermittent issues with my Almond+ not receiving an IP address from the cable modem for a while now, to the point where I went back to my old router. However, since I got a couple of z-wave devices that I enjoy using, I'd like to resolve this issue.
I started using my Almond+ again on Monday night and everything worked through Tuesday (I worked from home) but sometime around 7pm local time on Tuesday, the Almond+ stopped being connected to the internet.
Relevant Information:
* ISP: Optimum Online
* Cable Modem: Arris TM822G (I'm not home but I think its this one).
* Almond+ Firmware: R080
Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? If not, what logs/debugging info is useful to retrieve? I'd rather not switch back to my old router if I can avoid it.

Is the A+ using DHCP to get its WAN IP address?
Were there any power blips or outages at the time of the problem? The Status section of WebUI Router page will show how long its been running.

Yes -- the Almond+ is configured to use DCHP to receive its WAN IP address (in fact it worked for about a day). And no, there were no power blips, it just stopped working. This has happened in the past, and its very frustrating as nothing will seem to fix it except not using the Almond+ for a while. In addition, the rules seem to have not executed this afternoon, despite working this morning.

This is not a common problem.
DHCP lease times can be configured both on the router and on your cable modem.
Might want to send some logs to tech support and give them a call.
Specifically it will show what is happening with DHCP.
If you want to try to troubleshoot it yourself, that is where to start.

hey..!!! Did you check the traffic rules (Allow_DHCP_force_Renew_68) is available in your router or not?
If it is not there then do factory reset, the rules will append automatically.
To check all rules, goto the Web UI of almond+ then tap on Advanced tab then click on OpenWrt tile.
Then goto Network > Firewall > Traffic Rules.
For reference check the attached picture 64.png.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I checked the router and that rules does appear to be there. Is there anywhere else I should check (or any logs I should send). Because its been a while, the router is working again, but I don't know for how long.
Also, please note that on the "Status" "Overview" screen its reporting the WAN's lease to expire in 16758d 21h 35m 59s. That seems rather excessive but if its true then I shouldn't really lose the lease any time soon :-D

Please note that I instructed the Almond iOS app to tell my router to send you guys the logs in case they are useful.
Cheers,
Scott

@ battags,
Logs from the App may not help us in resolving the issue, check your PM, we may need to work with our support team to resolve it.

Okay -- Will check. Thank you!

I have had this same issue for the last month and am also on the latest R80 firmware. Tried a factory reset this morning and the issue persists. Could really use some help on this.
