I did not find any previous listing for it in the forums or on the wiki:
Linear WADWAZ-1 Door/Window Sensor
Magnetic sensor for Open/Close works..
Tamper switch works.
Easily paired, removed, re-paired as needed.
Screw terminal for external switch, does not work as of R083. This may be related to the Alarm Event signal and value.
According to the instructions the signals/values the sensor provides are:
Alarm Type:
Internal Switch: 0x07
Tamper Switch: 0x07
External Switch: 0x07
Alarm Event:
Internal Switch: 0x02
Tamper Switch: 0x03
External Switch: 0xFE
Alarm Level:
Internal Switch: Close: 0x00: Open: 0xFF
Tamper Switch: 0x0F
External Switch: Close: 0x00: Open: 0xFF
General notes:
Screw terminals are oriented towards the case which means you must remove the board, insert wires and trim a hole in the case then screw the board back in. Would have been easier if they had made two holes accessible to begin with OR oriented it inside so you could bend the wires any which way.

Not bad, Avg price $30, low price $26, high price $39
$31 w/ Prime on Amazon
Carried by Home Depot and Newegg
You using the external terminals for anything interesting?
-
I got 3 of them for $40 at one point, I think on eBay. I did not buy them knowing about the external switch actually. When I found out that they have the switch I thought I might just use them for double-sets of windows (nothing interesting). Since it does not work with R083... I will hold off on permanent installation.

Just an FYI, these are made by Vision and are exactly the same as a bunch of other brands, including Monoprice. Don't waste your money on fancy branded ones, as they're less than $25 from Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=10795

I pretty much do not care what brand as long as it works. $20 is generally my price point for any sensor or switch... So I am piecemealing it all together as I can find things.

I do the same, though for a few things have stretched the budget but only when still a good deal ;D

True. It is an area I never real gave much thought until I backed the Almond+. I have has a smattering of X10 over the years but always for accessory type of functions. Now I actually am trying to make intelligent use of stuff.
