Title: Schedule internet access
Post by: Ale on January 06, 2016, 03:15:07 pm
I want to schedule internet access for certain MAC or IP adresses. It is really about restricting internet from my teenage son during ceratin hours in the night :)

Is it possible, and in that case how do I do it?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, we can't do that as of now.

@Ale, I believe many devices, tablets computers, may offer this ability, but am not sure. Maybe check the settings on those devices. Obviously on a phone that won't help as phones have mobile broadband.

Assign a static IP to the device and set a cron job to modify IPTables as needed.

Hmmmm another app function...

Thank you for the suggestion.

How do I do that, set a cron job I mean. Do I have to SSH in to the unit or is it possible from the Openwrt interface?

Either works. OpenWRT goto System->Scheduled Tasks

The suggested method requires a basic knowledge of routing and UNIX.

Aha, ok. Then I think it's better that I wait for Securifi to implement some sort of parental features :)
