Title: Delay for notifications
Post by: jmonty on January 20, 2016, 07:50:24 pm
I have my home/away set to automatically update based on my phone presence. I also have my door sensors set to notify me on open/close but only if I'm away. Unfortunately when I come home I see door events. I'm guessing that it's because my phone hasn't quite managed to connect to my network yet, so I still appear away. Is there any way to delay the door event for, say, 1 minute so that my "home" status can get updated first?

@ jmonty,

We can't delay the door event, however, for an actuator like Door Lock or Binary switch then we could wait for certain time and do the action (Open/Close or On/Off).

I'm not really asking to delay the event. That's a real-time thing. But I do think it should be possible to optionally delay the notification about the event, and upon timeout it can decide if the notification should still occur.

@ jmonty,

Got it and as of now that feature is not available.

FWIW, I  have created a scene that sets me to Home, Opens my Garage Door, and Unlocks my Door from Garage to the House.

By setting me to home first, I avoid all the notifications.
