Title: Cloud admin link code.
Post by: Shazster on January 27, 2016, 05:12:00 pm
During the initial setup of the almond+ (and Almond2015 and I assume the other flavors of Almond as well) it spits out a 4 or 5 character code that you need to enter into your Almond Android app to set up cloud linkage.

Where does one navigate to in the touchscreen to retrieve this code?
(WITHOUT re-doing the setup procedure from scratch. I worked hard on my setup. I like my setup. I should not have to redo my setup.)

And if the answer is nowhere, redo the setup from scratch, someone at Securifi should have the good sense to add this to the bug list.

It's quite easy.

Tap the more button on the LCD, then Almond Account and you can set it up from here.

OK.
Almond Account screen reads as follows:
Cloud Connection  (checked green)
Internet Connection (checked green)

"This Almond+ is linked to
my email @ my emailprovider.com

If unlinked, your connected sensors
will not be accessible remotely"

The only button under this is the one to unlink the account. There are no other options.

@ Shazster,

We cannot link one Almond device to more than one account, however, you can give access to more than one user by inviting them. Yes, if you  unlink the account, then you would not be able to access the sensors remotely. What is the exact issue you are facing.

I would like to reset my Almond android app back to cloud connection instead of local connection. The app requests the code to complete the action.

@ Shazster,

In order to do that, tap on the Cloud icon on the right side top and change it. We could switch seamlessly from Cloud to Local connection.

App seems to have reacquired cloud access, but not through any action on my part. (App was running in the background on tablet. When I checked it after your response, it seemed to be connected via cloud).

While the problem seems to have resolved itself, if it happens again, the question still stands: If my app requests my pin code switching from local to cloud, where can that code be found?

@ Shazster,

The code is generated only once while linking the device and that's it. If you would like to do the process again, we have to unlink and only then we can get code to link it again. We don't need any code to switch the mode from Local to Cloud or vice-versa.
