Nice to get an email from the CEO to the original backers re-committing to the Almond+ platform.  Thank you for the update.

Any reason why this note from the CEO isn't being shared with everyone?  Why are other purchasers/ supporters of the Almond+ being kept in the dark?

There is nothing like we kept others in dark or some thing, it was just a thank you note with the updates happened so far because with out the Kickstarter backers help the Almond+ project would have never succeeded. Kickstarter backers got their unit with very old firmware with very basic functionality of Home Automation, so we just wanted to update them.  We would also share one more note with some updates for everyone soon.

Like Ashok said it was just a think you note, for backing on Kickstarter. The only other thing included with it was a list of all the changes since the Kickstarter. Nothing that isn't on the website or forum.
