Title: Almond 3 Weather APP Is Inaccurate
Post by: Robinson235 on November 26, 2016, 07:34:10 am
After much discussion with Securifi tech support and my internet provider tech support it appears that the Almond 3 Weather APP data comes from my dynamic IP address which isubject to change and currently 140 miles north of my physical location....something I have no control of.  This feature definitely needs a fix. Hint ... The users zip code might be a better solution for weather data.

I second this notion. It would be nice for the weather to show up where I am actually located  ;)

There are better possibilities, with more accuracy, like Weather Underground.  This could be based on the user's ZIP code.

This has been an issue intermittently for some users before and as stated by Robinson235 usually due to issues with the IP address. (the same reason sometimes when you go to a retail website and it wants to know your location it shows up in a totally different area of the country) A zip code input would be nice, not sure if the data / service they use for weather accepts zip codes (if they do I imagine it would be relatively simple to add).
