Home and away is not enough to use home security as either mode should be able to be used to turn alarms on/off.
Alarms need to be set when home as well as away without setting complicated rules or manually setting different devices.
Has there been any discussion to add a separate mode for home security on/off?
What are others doing for now?

I have different Rules in the different cases. For example if I am home I have it trigger alarm and lights in specific rooms. But I do not have the sensors notify me because my phone is likely not on me.
Away it triggers a different set of responses and I have the sensors notify me, so I could checks camera or such.

i would rather not have to have a whole bunch of rules. When one rule could be used if there was a set security mode to on/off.

I agree. I'd like a "Home" equivalent to disarm, but allow users to selectt which individual devices because there may be some that should be always armed. "Away" equivalent to arm, again allow users to continue to select which devices that means. And a third option, perhaps "Perimeter" or similar, where you can select certain devices, this would be ideal for evening hours or when sleeping so the exterior or perimeter alarms might be active but not the ones in the hallway so it doesn't go off if someone goes to bed. Ideally, you could set up a rule that whenever anyone of these alarms is triggered it sets off an alarm "scene" so that you do not need to create hundreds of rules to accommodate all devices.

An additional mode would be good... combined with OR it would be wonderful!
IF Home-Armed AND Window1 Open OR Window2 Open OR Window3 Open OR BackDoor Open THEN Alarm
VS
IF Home AND Window1 Open AND... >7PM<6AM(?) THEN ALARM
or maybe more relevant
IF Away AND Window 1 Open THEN Alarm
IF Away AND Window 2 Open THEN Alarm
IF Away AND Window 3 Open THEN Alarm
IF Away AND BackDoor Open THEN Alarm
