Title: Yale locks?
Post by: grouter on July 04, 2017, 12:06:46 pm
Anyone using Yale Zigbee or Z-wave locks with the A+ or A3? Any issues?

I see a few posts about them but most all are pretty old.

Thanks

just finished setting up my Yale zigbee doorlock on my Almond 2015. works great with the App.

sadly it doesn't show up on Alexa Smart Home Skill.

Amazon has restricted the types of devices controllable by Alexa. Door locks is one of them unfortunately.

Yes, there are many types of devices that Alexa does not support yet or features for current devices. Maybe they will someday, but not much Securifi can do about that. Then again Alexa is constantly being updated so who knows when it might work.

but it is advertised as "works with Alexa" via SmartThings hub. why not Almond?

Hmm... looks like they DID finally add support for them. In that case, maybe Securifi needs to add it to their skill. You might have to do a device detection to get it added to the Alexa also.

Sorry that does not help much.
