There's no capability to connect a Philips Hue bridge just yet. This is something I'm anxiously awaiting. :-)
-
I know we've had this working, as per the CES 2013 video...
Let me check with the software team when they can add this back in.
-
Any news on this? Doesn't appear to work with the production model I just received and that was one of the major selling points for me.
-
Update on this? I have Hue stuff too.
-
It's still in development and I don't have a an exact release date for it, but it's coming.
I'll let you know when I have more details.
-
I am installed my Almond+ and use my Almond as an extender now. I have Phillips Hue lights(4) working in my house off of the Phillips bridge. I am curious as to what would happen using the Almond+ sensor app that would be different for me.
-
The only real difference would be that you could control your lights from our app instead of having to use multiple apps to control things.
-
Still waiting for Hue support to hit the Almond+ ?
-
It's mostly done and we're testing it now as there are still a couple of bugs to fix.
It'll be part of the next firmware, although it'll be partial support initially, as the apps won't support it straight away, but you can use any Hue app as normally.
-
Any news on functionality in current firmware?
I tried a hue lamp last week and it didn't work, but I realise now that it was probably paired to a hue bridge and needs resetting first.
-
Hue support is built in I believe. When you add a device you need to select the tab that says Hue.
-
Thanks for quick reply. Will have to try again. Where do you select that tab, on the app or web interface? Must have missed that...
-
It's on the Almond+'s touch screen interface, under Add a Device. Hue has a range of bulbs though, and support for Living Colors Bloom and Lightstrips were just added, I believe, in an internal firmware build. Also, there's not yet support for Hue bubs within Rules, but it's coming.
-
Thanks Vito, will go home and try again.
I used the touch screen interface but didn't see that tab. Will have to look closer and check that I'm on the latest fw too.
-
If you are on R070, go to "ADD SENSOR" on LCD. There are options for Zigbe/Zwave and HUE. If you can't see them make sure you update the firmware first.
-
We're getting close to releasing a new app that will have support for the hue bulbs and although we'd hoped to release the app alongside R070, it'll come alongside R071 where we've added improved support for the hue hub and support for more hue devices.

That's great to hear Lars. I'm a lighting designer and the lighting control part is very important to me. I'd be happy to provide input on the lighting side of things or do beta testing if you need. In our office we are very closely following developments in control solution and Zigbee in general is high on the agenda.
-
That sounds great Lars. Any guesstimation as to when R071 or the next beta Firmware will be released?
-
Hopefully in a couple of weeks if all goes well.
