Peanut plug / Re: Peanut pairing issues
« Last post by mparadis on December 31, 2018, 10:18:46 am »
I just did one the other day that didn't want to at first. Took about a minute with different button configurations to figure it out but I can't recall which worked!

I replaced the main poly fuse with a bigger one.  No more lookups or white screens since then.

Have a write-up on that?

I agree. Obviously vendors close or change services but a bit more notice would've been good.

Peanut plug / Re: Firmware update for the peanut plug?
« Last post by Ab on December 31, 2018, 09:35:52 am »
o/d response :-[ ...  I was able to get the peanuts to work after the firmware update - they wouldn't turn on/off using the rules without the update

Thanks @fillibar

It is handled from the Almond touchscreen, in the Connected Sensors app.

Almond+ / Live Weather Data

Received the following message this AM. My question is, does this effect sunrise and sunset triggers as well or are these tied to the time servers?

Quote
Dear Customer,

The company that has been providing us live weather data, Weather Underground, has decided to stop offering their data service starting on January 1st, 2019. We've been furiously working on replacing them with another provider. But unfortunately, it looks like we will not have the replacement ready before January 1st. So until our replacement is ready, the following services might not work on your Almonds.
1.   Display of live weather on the LCD
2.   Smart Home Rules that involve Weather triggers.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We will keep you informed on the availability of the new weather data service.

Happy New Year

Thank You,
Almond Team

General Discussion / Weather Service "Disruption" and Messaging
« Last post by fillibar on December 31, 2018, 09:10:31 am »
Just an open message to Securifi on this one... But in the future if a service is going to be unavailable, one people rely on, how about giving more than 1 days notice?! It may not seem like much, but the weather service is useful for things like Rules... Including ones that turn on devices with Sunset or such.

Mine might be minor, but other people might be more impacted. Besides letting people know a little further in advance (maybe 2 weeks for a service disruption?) I would also make sure to post it here in the forum, maybe on the blog, and MAYBE put it as an alert on the devices if someone tries to use the service.

Do you have any time frame on when you might have a new service possible, or at least what companies you might be looking at?

Almond 3 / Re: z-wave adaptor

No, devices will not migrate. Due to the unique IDs and security involved you cannot copy or "backup" Z-Wave devices (or ZigBee for that matter). Not even Securifi's "fault" it is the standards themselves.

As for checking status, on the LCD in the Add Devices, you should see a message at the bottom of the window like "Z-Wave via USB" once it is plugged in.

They can be added via the app also, while in local connection mode. A + icon will be at the top right of the devices screen then.

Peanut plug / Re: Peanut pairing issues

I would try holding the pairing button down longer, maybe 15 seconds. Sounds like you are doing the things you should.

If they are still failing I would try holding the pairing button as you plug it into the wall and keep holding for 15 seconds...

Peanut plug / Peanut pairing issues
« Last post by efity on December 28, 2018, 05:34:28 pm »
I just bought two plugs from Amazon. From everything I can tell in the manual and online, when I plug them in they should flash red and green and be in pairing mode. Mine do nothing. I've held the pairing button down 10 seconds to reset them, unplugged, and plugged them back in. A red light flashes for a few seconds, and then goes dark again. Neither are discoverable.

I can press the power on/off button manually and the switch functions (and the green led comes on and off), but it refuses to go into pairing mode. Any ideas?
