Hello from Wisconsin
« on: August 04, 2014, 02:55:12 pm »
Hello all! Just snagged an Almond+ off ebay since I missed out on the Kickstarter campaign. I, as a non-backer, have been anxiously waiting for backer shipments to be finished so I could get one for myself. Thought I could cut the line by perusing ebay and I was right. Should be here sometime this week.  Super excited!

Huh.  I hadn't considered that route…  Lucky!

I feel kind of guilty about it to be honest. Getting one before actual backers do, but at the same token I'm glad I was able to relieve someone that was unhappy with the product. It'll be going to a much better home with me :)

I was able to get mine for about $120 with shipping, but I've seen a couple that are getting upwards of $170+

You got a bargain as the MSRP will be $249...
We're a bit sad seeing people selling their Almond+ on Ebay etc. but it's not something can really complain about and we understand why some are doing it, since we're much later than we ever anticipated to be.

Wow! I guess I did.   8)

I'm sure some are just in it for the profit. Seeing as they are selling for nearly 100% over what they initially paid for it. I've kept tabs on updates and read over the comments every now and then. The general consensus seems to be positive. There's only a handful that seem upset enough about everything to the point that they want to sell theirs.

Still sad I missed out on the actual kickstarter campaign, but this will have to do. I missed the postal man yesterday, but I'll be picking it up from the post office tonight. Pumped!  :D

Just don't get your hopes up too high, we still have a lot of work to do, but the next firmware release will make the Almond+ a lot more feature complete.

Oh, not to worry. I'm fully aware of the state things are in right now. I don't have too big of plans for it right now other than being a sexy looking AC router.  :P  8)

Hello- Also from Wisco!

Awesome! It's hard finding any kind of techies around these parts. Whereabouts are you? I'm in Green Bay myself.
