Zigbee MAC and Installation codes
« on: September 28, 2014, 07:45:51 am »
I had a look at connecting a smart meter today to see what would work.

The utility company requires the Zigbee MAC and Installation codes to be sent to the Smart meter for security before connection.

Can we find these somewhere, or is this type of connection not supported?

Thanks

Damien

My understanding (from questions I asked during the kickstarter phase, so they may not longer be operationally correct) is that the Zigbee in the A+ is Zigbee HA (home automation) not Zigbee SE (Smart Energy).

I use a rainforest automation EAGLE to read my PG&E meter.

I could be wrong, and it would be nice to be able to pair the smartmeter with the A+, but this is what I know as of now ;-)
