LCD Screen Unresponsive
« on: August 22, 2015, 03:13:28 pm »
Does anyone have trouble with the LCD screen not responding? After a day or two, when I try to wake up the Almond+ screen by touch it, it will not respond. I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to restart it and wake it up. Any suggestions?

@ samson1982,

To diagnose and understand if the issue is with the screen timeout, can you set the screen timeout to "999999" and then check, if you are able to access the touch screen with out any concerns.

Sometimes the touchscreen on my almond plus doesn't work. I cycle the power and sometimes it stops responding again right after boot up, so I cycle the power again. The screen will be on and buttons visible, it just does nothing when I touch it. The router continues to operate, just the touchscreen stops accepting inputs.

Mine went black for several weeks. Everything else was functioning so I left it. I finally rebooted and that fixed it. Prior to that, I had the strange issue where characters appeared in fields on the lcd without me touching it. I put a screen lock code on it and it still happens occasionally, but at least it's stuck on the lock screen and hasn't changed my ssids.

Sorry it took a bit to reply. I changed the screen timeout to "999999" on Sun, it woke the screen up on the Almond+. However, it was still unresponsive, so I restarted it by unplugging it and it started to work again. I left it for a day and checked it again, the screen was still responsive but it seems to be out of calibration as when I touch one side of the screen, it will press the button on the other side, etc. Basically it was not selecting the icon I pressed. The next day, this morning, it is now unresponsive again but the screen is still on.

Any other ideas?
