Cannot use as range extender due to hidden SSID???
« on: March 09, 2016, 06:47:19 pm »
Hello all,
I read through the threads, seems this is a topic since 2013.. but I would like  an answer, please.

I just bought and set up my Almond 2015 as a range extender. I tried setting it up with my modem on "SSID broadcast on", then I hid the SSID on my modem and Almond 2015 failed to connect.
Is this still an issue? Is there something I am not doing or looking at? Have any of you tried this trick to unhide and then hide the SSID to extend a secured signal?

Thanks in advance for all the helpful replies.

@ claude_villalobos,

We can connect the Almond 2015 to a hidden network by broadcasting it until it detects and gets connected. Later on, we can disable the SSID broadcasting and Almond 2015 should still be working with out any concerns. Try to give at least 1-2 minutes of time once the main router SSID is hidden.
