Could I use the contactor and tilt sensors with the almond in the same way as the Homeseer. Would there be an option on the web interface or almond display that would allow me to open and close the door based on the tilt sensors status? Would some over worked developer have to write the software?

We haven't tested the tilt sensors so I'm not sure it'll work at the moment, but otherwise I see no reason as to why this would work any differently with the Almond+.
I've added it to the list of things that we should test.
