Integration with Ring?
« on: October 10, 2014, 10:28:39 pm »
I would love to have integration with this product!
I watched an interview with the founder and it seems that they have plans to integrate with other devices. Not sure if it will be possible but, would love to see it happen!

It might be possible in the future, but would require some work.
We'll be releasing an IP bridge solution to those that are interested in developing support for IP devices for the Almond+ and that's what could be used to add support for something like this.

Just wondering... what do you mean by integrate? May the doorbell functions accessible via the Almond+ touchscreen and/or app? Since the doorbell is wifi I assume it would part of the wifi network as with any wifi device otherwise.

Neat product though. It looks like there are a few out there, but pricey.

Well, I'm not entirely sure.  The founder said in an interview that they planned to integrate with other devices such as Wink.
My guess would be to allow control of home automation devices based on motion being detected and the pushing of the doorbell.
They also mentioned that they should eventually have an open API, which should allow integration hopefully.

Here is some additional info:

Thanks, I was just curious, I didn't think of someone hitting the doorbell and then having that also trigger a light or something.
