Disassembling an out of warranty Almond+
« on: February 14, 2017, 12:10:30 pm »
Has anyone recently disassembled an Almond+ and have the model number for the touchscreen assembly or know of a compatible one that will work as good or better?  If so can you post it or PM me.  Posting it will be better for everyone else going forward.

My Almond+ is currently functional, but it has a nonfunctional screen and I wouldn't want to have to take it apart to get the number, put it back together and then disassemble again to put in the part to assemble again.  I'd like to keep it to one session.

I contacted Support and they got back to me about a replacement screen, but the cost of shipping to the USA is a non-starter so doesn't make sense to go that route.

You are lucky; I recently asked about a replacement screen for the Almond A1A, and they said that was not possible. Had to find it myself.

Oh, wow.  That's too bad.

Well $65 for the shipping is bananas to me.

It would be nice if there was a cheaper option available, so that I could get it, but without that excessive cost or they could just tell me where I could find a replacement part in the USA.

For the Almonds with 2.8" screen, a replacement can be got for just over $11 with shipping; $14 if one wants it from the states.
