FTP/SAMBA
« on: April 09, 2015, 07:58:45 pm »
I would like to connect a USB drive to the Almond +.  I am on the FTP/SAMBA screen of the Advanced Tab in the web UI.  I don't see the drop down menu to change the Permissions from Read to Read + Write.  I have updated to R072.  Is there another place where I can change this permission so I can upload files to the USB drive?  Thanks.

@ eliao,

You may go to OpenWRT-->Services-->FTP/SAMBA to change the permissions according to your usage.

Thanks.  That did it.
Are there directions on accessing the USB drive on a Mac?  I am trying to connect and I get this message "There are no shares available or you are not allowed to access them on the server" when I try SMB, and I get this message "This file server will not allow any additional users to log on" when I try FTP.  I'm obviously not doing this right.  Thanks for your help.

Afraid not.

What file system did you format the drive with? Only NTFS, FAT32 and EXT3 are supported.

I'm able to connect to the usb drive; however, in the OpenWRT->Services->FTP/SAMBA i've enable read+ write, but the usb is only showing read permission.  Is there another place to set permissions?

No, but I've seen that being a bit buggy sometimes. You might want to try disabling and re-enabling Samba again.
In the next firmware we'll have a more up to date release of Samba included, which will hopefully work a bit better.
