Almond+ display is hooped
« on: October 30, 2016, 03:26:42 am »
Well, the Almond+ is starting to flake out.  It's deciding to not hand out DHCP addresses reliably over the wired network, even with the latest firmware, and now the screen is hooped (noticed it with the previous firmware, and updated to the latest one and it's still screwed up).

Restarting it helps with handing out DHCP addresses, but doesn't help the screen.

Looks like you need to contact support. Pretty psychedelic colors though.

You could reach our support team at support@securifi.com for replacement. However, if you are comfortable in opening the case and troubleshooting, then we got a simple fix for it.

I had a similar issue. Fixed it myself in about 2 minutes time. I am only slightly comfortable opening devices up (have done a few phones and computers before, but nothing I was overly attached to). Way simpler than replacing.

Open up the back panel and disconnect the screen cable and reconnect. Poof working instantly. It appeared still connected but apparently had gotten a bit loose. You will want a few tools to help as the connections are tight and small. A precision tweezer worked well (as you would use with a cell phone repair).
