Random triggering of sensors
« on: November 16, 2016, 05:49:40 am »
Hello,
would it be possible to have a random trigger for sensors? E.g. when I am not at home I want to turn on/off lights or move the roller shutter randomly so that it looks like someone is at home.

Sounds like an interesting feature request. I have always made a block of rules to trigger stuff like this for a vacation, including having different times for different days so it does not look too regular. Sometimes I try to get fancy and trigger "travelling" lights from room to room.

Completely random might be tough to check though. How would you know when it is supposed to run, and you need to prevent them from coming on at unreasonable times (everything on much of the night, on during the day, etc...).

Great idea, this might show some age but my old X10 system had a randomize feature that did just that.

Maybe randomize with selectable time ranges? Random within 15min, 30min, 1hr...
