For the bulb problem, it sounds like you need to reset the bulb. Once paired, most ZigBee devices need to be reset before they will pair again. They do not have a "release" like Z-Wave does for the most part.
Also, I would never recommend the "Remove All" command. It removes them all from the Almond, but the devices themselves are not released / removed. So you would have to go around and reset each one.
It sounds like you have a decent initial setup. One thing to try is to actually unplug the UPSes and see how long they truly last. It is tough to figure out if you lost power and do anything proactive during that, but at least you will know the true runtime.
You might also want to look at a simple multi-sensor to keep an eye on temperature and such.
