VPN Won't Allow Access to LAN

I've enabled to PPTP VPN, and I am able to connect.  But once I'm connected I can't get to any local resource.  No matter to what I try and connect on my LAN, I just get a response that the server didn't respond from my web browser.  If I enable "send all traffic" on my VPN client, I do get routed through the Almond+ back out to the internet, but that isn't what I want to do.  I want to be able to get access to services on my local network.

I'm also having the same issue others are with regards to the VPN Server, namely that I can't get anything but the really crappy PPTP VPN to even allow me to connect.

Having a decent VPN server was one of the main reasons I backed and got the Almond+, and it's very disappointing that it's completely unusable for me.

It seems like you have a older firmware .Please upgrade your firmware to R65

I did that upgrade before I even tried to get the VPN server running.  Here's a chunk of log.  You'll note that I have changed my internal network numbering to another private space (to match what I had before on my old router).  I really hope that isn't the problem.  It seems like the VPN server should work even if I decide to use a different internal numbering scheme.

I also checked the wiki to see if there were any instructions on how to setup the VPN server.  Nothing there.

As of now there is a limitation when we maintaining VPN to remote network on same subnet as local network. please assign different segment ip to VPN user.

So on my first try it still didn't work.  I noticed my VPN client said it had attached to 192.168.3.99 and, given no there guidance or clue, I had assigned the VPN user an address on 192.168.1.1.  Once I changed the assigned IP for the VPN user to one in the range the server was in (i.e. 192.168.3.150), it worked fine.  There appears to be no place in the admin tool to find, set, or change the IP the VPN server uses, so this whole thing just feels liking trying random configurations until something works.

And now 10 minutes later it doesn't work again.  Absolutely no changes to the configuration what so ever.  What other random thing should I try?

And if you tell me to reboot the Almond+, then I will seriously consider just unplugging it and using it as a paper weight.  A $99 paper weight, but that appears to be all it's good for in my setup at this point.

VPN issue [ PPTP and IPsec ] will be fixed in next firmware release. UI will be modified. please follow the below thing to make PPTP VPN work..

* enable PPTP vpn from web Ui

* change the config file through command line  [ ssh in to almond plus ]

change the following configuration files :


 /etc/pptpd.conf
