Can't use wireless N on 5 GHz, only A or AC?

I have an EU Almond+ using the latest firmware. I can connect using wireless n on 2.5 GHz but not on 5 GHz. I can connect at 5 GHz using wireless a, but that is a bit useless in the modern world. Is this deliberate? Or a bug? Or have I missed a setting somewhere?

If the router is set to 802.11ac any 802.11n device will be able to connect to it.
Yes, we don't have an 802.11n 5GHz only mode at the moment and that will be added, but AC doesn't prevent N devices from connecting as it's backwards compatible.
What device(s) is it that you can't connect?

i think I'm having a similar problem. sometimes 5 GHz will show up some times not

i am using macbook (early 2011) and iPhone 5s, both sometimes see 5 GHz and can connect, but most the time i have to connect to 2.5 GHz

Ok. I only have Apple products to test with, but neither my iPhone 5S nor my MacBook Air will connect at 5GHz when in ac mode. They will in a mode.

I am seeing similar issues.
My 2013 13" MacBook Pro, with AC, has no issues. But a 2012 13" MacBook air, with N only, as well as iPhone 5S, iPad mini, iPad 3, and AppleTV, have intermittent connection dropouts on 5Ghz. I would not say it is perfect on 2.4, but much better.

I switched over to 802.11a only based on the suggestions above. Not long enough to prove whether it fully works, but no dropouts far.

On my side, I have only MacBook pro 2011 and 2014... But both of them are only connecting at 54 Mb max...
In 802.11g or 802.11a... Max is still 54 Mb...
I never connected to AC or N... I don't know why... All is setup to AC and N in A+ settings...
Any idea ?
