New Almond - No Internet connection

Hi All,

Just got my Almond on Friday, needed something to boost the signal in the house.  Got it setup, hooked into my wireless as a range extender. Other devices can see it and hook into it, however there is no internet connection.  Devises which connect to it are unable to leverage the devise, I need to change over to the wireless router that has the lesser signal. 

Now I have scanned the forum but get a little lost from time to time trying things.

So - using it as a range extender, it is recognized by devices, but it does not allow internet connectivity.  Still shows a red box.  I have signed into the main router and I can see the device there too.  I am sure its simple but any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Brian,

If the status on the Almond shows "Internet Disconnected" with mode as Range Extender that means it is connected to the network, but there is no internet access on the Almond from the main router. This could happen because of the location, where it is not receiving even average signal or because of the firewall. Could you please try the following for me:

1) Unplug the power cable from the Almond then turn of the main router, wait for 1 minute then turn on the main router once it is completely on then turn on the Almond and check.

2) Try to move the Almond closer to the main router.

3) Check if the firewall is enabled on the main router and try to check the status after disabling it.

I have the same problem. I tried the recommendations in an old post but they didn't work:

I tried your suggestions here - the connection becomes successful after changing my firewall (xfinity) to minimum. How can I increase my firewall security and still get connection in Almond?

Hi Brian,

It seems like the Firewall is blocking the internet access to the Almond and you may have to contact your ISP to customize the firewall settings and allow the Almond Extender to work.
