poor LAN performance
« on: October 07, 2014, 11:31:24 am »
Hi there,

am I the only one who expeariences poor performance when devices are connected over ethernet cable?

My PC and my Diskstation are connected via ethernet cable to the Almond +. If i copy a big file from the Diskstation to my pc the file transfer rate will reach 10 - 12 MB/s at maximum. The Diskstation as well as my pc are capable of GBIT ethernet.

If I connect the Diskstation and the pc to a gbit switch and connect the switch to the almond + (because of DHCP and Routing etc.) the transfer speed reaches over 70 MB/s.

I didn't run many tests yet but i think that my internet connection is also slower now that i'm using the almond +. My internet provider is Kabel deutschland with a 100 mbit/s cable modem.

Does somebody have an idea what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance :)

You're most likely not doing anything wrong at all.
We've had a couple of units with this issue, but it's very rare.
Can you please email [suspicious]support@securifi.com[/suspicious] and we'll get a replacement sorted out.
