DHCP Static Address Setup for Clients
« on: December 23, 2014, 09:28:16 am »
Hi,

I just unboxed and setup my Almond+.

I have a simple setup but lots of DHCP clients (around 100 devices at home all want access to the internet somehow), I like to keep things organised and leave them on DHCP but have the server (Almond+) give out preassigned addresses based on their MACs.  A pain in the behind to setup once but then I always know where everything is and if I do something like change DNS I don't have to do it on the devices, rather the router takes care.

I am reasonably savvy but cannot find anywhere on the web interface or on touchscreen the place where I map MAC addresses to reserved IP Addresses in the DHCP server.  This is quite a normal standard thing to do, all my other routers allow it.

Have I missed something (would be very happy to have it pointed out how stupid I am).

Thanks!

Thank you - Appreciate the pointer!

It explains a lot, I had been right through the menus but when I hit the OpenWRT button I get a black webpage with the address bar showing:

http://10.10.10.254%0A:90

I will search the wiki / forums for that problem now!

I solved that one too, it appears the Almond+ GUI isn't compatible with Safari on a fully up to date Mac.

It downloaded Chrome and it works I now see the OpenWRT GUI.

Hmmmmm

I've let the software team know about the Safari issue.

It's possible to add static IP leases in NutsOS now too, if you go to Advanced, Forwarding.

It's strange, it works (NutOS and OpenWRT) on my Mac's up-to-date safari...

For my IP Leases, as Lars pointed it, it's easier to use Advanced > Forwarding. You can add all your lease (I've around 30 leases) easily.

Sorry, it should be under the router tab, network and add static lease of course. There's a list of dynamic leases below that you can copy the mac addresses from.
