My List of Working Sensors
« on: January 13, 2015, 03:56:43 pm »
I have the following sensors now working with the beta firmware
1. Linear WD500Z-1 Z-Wave 500-watt Wall Mount Dimmer Switch
2. GE Z-Wave Ceiling Fan Wall Switch (12730)
     A.  It sees it as a dimmer switch, but works perfectly
3. Leviton VRMX1-1LZ 1000W
4. Ecolink Z-Wave PIR Motion Detector
5. GE Link Bulbs

Still waiting on In-wall binary switch support 😃

I was hesitant to upgrade to a beta firmware. However, with just purchasing 5 Linear dimming light switches, I was desperate.  I upgraded, reinstalled the switches I had installed already and wham, they worked. Thank you for posting. What are you referring to about the "binary switch support"?

Thanks for the update on the Linear WD500Z-1 Z-Wave 500-watt Wall Mount Dimmer Switch.  I have a couple coming, and fingers are crossed. Cheers

The binary switch is like the dimmer switch.  It is an in-wall switch that only has on/off but no dimmer function.  I have two of them installed; just waiting for support.

@Deleted

Is your Linear WD500Z working 100% correctly now?  I bought and just installed one of these. I got it to pair, but it didn't recognize what kind of sensor, so I chose one. Which one did you choose?  I cannot get it to work properly. It functions correctly 20-25% of the time, while failing the rest. It will dim, but after it does, it still registers inside the app as 100% brightness.  Then I get the error message " Unable to update sensor."

Any tips you can share?

@ utrph77004,

Try to remove and added it as Multi-Level switch and check the performance. Also, let us know if this is happening on both iOS and Andriod app?

@Deleted,
  How do those ceiling fan controls work for you? Handles the speed in the 3 stages most fans want, or is it actually doing % (not just reporting %)? My wife has her "most wanted" feature of our ceiling fans automatically being turned on in the summer when it gets warm in their respective rooms.
  If they are working out... It just becomes a matter of finding them cheap enough.

@ashok

That's what I added it as already, the multi level switch. I don't own any Android devices to test it with, just a pure iOS household, as are 98% of my friends and family.

I set up a few rules and also a few scenes, and all work correctly with it so far. The only time I run into issues is when I try to control it by going directly to it under Sensors.  After I rebooted the A+, it worked almost flawlessly but I haven't tested it much. I will post again in 3-4 days after more testing.

After more testing, seems to be working well now. Evidently after I added the sensor, something became flakey, but after rebooting the A+, those problems resolved themselves. Glad it was simple.
