Perfomance issue between AP mode and Router
« on: January 15, 2015, 04:58:33 pm »
So I was all happy that the beta firmware fixed my mac/ios issues and I was getting the speeds I expected with the Almond+ running in AP mode.  I was so confident that I decided to remove switch out my router and put the almond+ as the main device in my network.  Almond+ is in the same location as it previously was and even with reboots my speeds significantly dropped and at times my devices could not even connect to the Almond+. Did some reboots of the router along with reboots on my machines and nothing got better.  Put the Almond+ back in AP mode (no reboot) and put my old device back in to the network and issues went away again. I am happily sitting at my caps but am curious why I am seeing such a decline in speeds between the two modes.

For reference I am sitting out around 30mb down externally with the Almond+ in AP mode and it drops down to 2-3mb when it sits as a router.  Uploads are just as bad 5-6mb up in AP mode and .45mb when set as main router.

That's very odd indeed. I've passed on your feedback to the software team.
