community help with potentially faulty almond+ is it me, or it?
« on: February 20, 2015, 03:09:26 am »
Hey guys,
Before I bother the support guys, I just wanted to reach out to the local community and see if anyone else has had the problems I am experiencing with their Almond+

Here are a list of things that might come up
  • Only recently been able to start using the Almond+ as of 2 days ago (I know, long wait!!)
  • I have updated the firmware to the most recent one as of 2 days ago
  • Cable modem (30mbps) is in NAT mode, port 1 has connected to the Almond+'s uplink port.  All devices have been hard booted
  • Devices on Network:
  • Samsung SmartTV (h7000) (wired)
  • Raspbery Pi running OpenElec, XBMC Frodo (wired)
  • Synology DS413j NAS (wired)
  • laptops, phones and tablets are wireless

okay that all said and out of the way,  I've come home everyday after work to find that my A+ has turned off and has dropped all my devices off of the DHCP client list, requiring them all to be restarted.  I believe that the A+ is overheating and turning off.  Currently it is sitting behind the TV, lying on its side.

I have to remove and return the powercord to turn the device back on, and then many of the devices will not reconnect until I start removing network cables.  Now, I don't know if I actually need to do that or not, I've just noticed whats worked.

Is there a setting I should be turning on in the A+ to help it deal with heat issues?  Or is something causing it to turn off?

I am confused and hoping I have a faulty unit that can be replaced.

It's not a heat issue. Please contact the support team, it looks like you're going to need a replacement.
