Almond as wireless access point?

I love the touch screen configuration of the Almond. My intent is to use Almond to connect wired devices to a wireless network. This works well in range extender mode. However the appearance of a rogue wireless broadcast is disturbing to network admins in corporate settings and to neighbors at hotels. ENHANCEMENT REQUEST: Add a feature in range extender mode to turn off wireless rebroadcasting, making the device act as a wirelessly connected two port network access point. SECOND SUGGESTION: Allow router mode to connect to the WAN via either a network cable OR a wireless connection. This would introduce an additional level of NAT but still allow function as an access point wirelessly connected to the WAN without rebroadcasting.

Just curious as to why you would want to do this with an Almond+ that has so many other capabilities that would go unused when you could get a decent ASUS or Cisco router for much less that would do the very same thing.  An AC is a set and forget box.  Not knocking you, but is just seems like a waste.

If you are lucky enough to have the extra $$$ to use only Almond+'s for  your network, then more power to you!

If you have an Almond (as in the original one), have you tried the WWAN mode to solve request 2? As that should allow you to do what you want. It's on the last screen of options in the LCD UI.
We haven't implemented this in the Almond+ or Almond 2015 as yet though.
