Osram Lightify RGBW Flex Strip
« on: March 24, 2015, 01:20:03 pm »
Just got one of the Osram Lightify RGBW Flex Strips. I haven't been able to pair it to Hue hub, just doesn't seem to find it. Trying to pair it straight to the Almond+ it finds it, reads data but the comes up stating Association failed. Anybody have any luck with one of these.

That's odd, the association shouldn't fail, but it might be because you tried to pair it with the hue hub. Can you reset the module and see if that helps? They have a slightly annoying reset procedure with 2 seconds on/2 seconds off, repeat five times. I'd suggest using a timer, as I had to do this with their bulbs. Also make sure you're on R070as or it won't work properly.

I tried the reset and still couldn't get, but will try again.

Tried again still came up associtaion failed, even with a new one out of the box. I even tried downgrading to R70as. The model number for the strips is 73661 if that helps.

Ok, can you please send the logs after the pairing fails and put a note mentioning it's their RGBW strips?
This is really odd, as someone else in the forums got some random RGBW strips to work and that's from a company we haven't had a single product from.
I'll make sure we get some samples in as well.

Ok, so apparently the LED strips are different.
They have power monitoring built in and because we can't detect that properly, the pairing fails and I'd assume it's the same for the hue.
We'll arrange some samples and get this working. I guess this is somewhat my bad as I added them to the Wiki as I thought they were the same.
I'll remove them for now, but it should be pretty straightforward to get these working once we have a sample.

I'll try them tomorrow, I haven't tried to pair them in a while.

Sorry for the delay.

I'm still getting the assosation failed message on latest firmware. Looks like it works with wemo, with no problems. http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-73661/, and also smartthings. I think I'm starting to regreat backing the Almond. Logs sent back at the end of March, the same day they figure out what the problem is, and almost to July and still doesn't work.
