R72 - IRIS Thermostat (CT101) Status Never Changes
« on: April 04, 2015, 02:24:36 pm »
A+ FW R72:
In the Web UI, IRIS Thermostat (CT101) Status never changes and it always shows:

STATUS Currently Idle,Fan is Running, Battery 0%.
Even if the fan is not running  and there is a full set of NEW battery, it shows the above. Basically status info never changes no matter what.

In the A+ LCD:
Battery status is wrong as well (i.e. always low).

Just an FYI, CT101 display always shows the correct information.

While the team addresses this issue, could you please display the Humidity% information in the web UI?  You will get bonus point if you can display the "Filter days" info as well :-*
TIA.

+1 for Humidity and Filter features.

I have two CT101. One of them does not work from the webUI, but works from the app and LCD.

The first one had this problem. I had to remove it and add it again and it seemed to work.

My first one that works across all three (web, ios, LCD) is CT101, but it does not have the flashing lights on the left of the display).
My second one that works across only two (LCD, ioS) is also CT101, but it has flashing lights on the left of the display.

So apparently there are two devices with the same model no.

Any chance you can post pictures of the thermostats? Preferably front and back.

This is really confusing, as there appears to be 4-5 different models of what should be the same product and they all work differently.

@Lars . These are the pictures of the newer Thermostat which does not work from the WebUI. I will remove the other one probably during weekend and send you those pictures.

It's very similar, but not the same as the one I have here.
It appears that they have variants of variants, which is great, as it looks the same in every single way...

BTW, now that its getting hotter in Texas the humidity is also increasing. I just wanted to reiterate the humidity sensor request. I have hardwood floors that are extremely sensitive to humidity and it would be great to set triggers on humidity

Apparently these thermostats don't have a Z-Wave interface for the humidity sensor from what I've been told, so it doesn't look like we can do much about it.

Welcome to the weird world of IRIS thermostats :-). As if your job wasn't hard enough already.

One of my thermostats does not show this, while another does. The model no. is the same.

I just read your message again and you were talking about the z-wave interface. If there is no zwave interface, there is nothing anyone can do. But I am curious though. Does the thermostat you have show the RH level ?

Interesting.. I just connected my thermostat to the IRIS hub and the display has changed. I am assuming that the firmware of the thermostat was updated (Is that even possible). Now I can see RH on both my thermostats.

Even more interesting, when I added the thermostat back, I have the same issue in the thermostat that was working perfectly fine. I can control it from iOS and LCD, but not from webUI. So, it is not a product id issue I think.

Firmware updates are possible, but it tens to only work with the manufacturers gateway (if they make one) or you have to do it via USB or something along those lines.
That said, I managed to dig out the setting on the CT100 I have next to me, simply tap on the screen where the time/RH is and it'll change. I still don't know how we'd be able to read that information, as the CT100/CT101 doesn't seem to have a means of sending that information to the controller/gateway. Does the Iris controller get this information?

Not sure what's going on with the web UI, but I've passed this on to the software team.

Yep. IRIS can see the RH Level from the thermostat. Apparently smart things can see RH as well, but I don't have a smart things to verify that.

I have a screencast that shows the weird behavior of the thermostat. I am assuming this is a Stylesheet/ CSS issue and nothing to do with the device. You can pass this on to your devs.

@Lars, just checking if you managed to get this to the developers. It looks like a CSS/JavaScript issue on the WebUI. I am unable to do anything from the webUI. It's not a major problem, but would be great to have it fixed.

Oh and also, I know it might not be possible, but it would be great to have the thermostat display the RH level as well :-) . My brother got the smartthings and he has the thermostat as well. Smart things and IRIS both show the RH level of the thermostat
