web login page, change Login button location
« on: August 09, 2015, 12:49:16 pm »
For http://10.10.10.254/cgi-bin/luci, the Login button is in the lower right hand corner area of the User/Password block (floating at the right margin).
In Portrait mode on at least some devices, this is off to the right and requires horizontal scrolling to reach.
Please move it to below the User/Password entry area (left margin), or reduce the width of the field?
Thanks.

Suggestion: 600px width

The page does actually recommend a display of 1024x768 (which they use almost the entire 1024 width).

While the Login screen does not need that width I just flipped through the others and it looks like they used that same standard width throughout. It would be a tighter squeeze on the Home screen and others. Of course some of them have a vast amount of wasted space (looking at Sensors) but at least they did keep the general feel and dimensions consistent.

If they reduced that minimum to 600px it would really cramp some of the other areas as a result. Just my 2 cents.

If I use a browser set to autofit via a zoom, then the Login is visible when first painted. However, as soon as I set the focus to the password control to enter, it expands, and the Login is pushed well off to the right.
This is in portrait format, which is what I prefer to use when accessing the Sensors page. Rotating back and forth is not desirable, just to login then view/adjust sensors.

I'm not asking for a complete layout change for all tabs. Just a Login button accessible without scrolling horizontally.
The width could be maintained, if the Login button was just relocated.

Gotcha. Sounds reasonable. Hopefully they add it to the list.
