Dead device?
« on: June 17, 2016, 11:20:32 am »
Hi,

I have been Almond+ user since september 2014, I am backer 1430 8) and I have been with Almond+ spirit all the way from beginning of 2013.

But now black cloud has arrived on my Almond+ screen, really black, so black that my device does not show, or do, anything.

I have checked my PSU, it does work correctly. When I plug power on device, network leds flashes really quickly and then just nothing. I have no idea what I could do, maybe now I have expensive paperweight  :'(

Fell the same way.  Not only a backer but a back with multiple units.  To never see it really ever deliver on the promise.  Now to see the Almond 3 get features that it looks like our hardware could more than handle.

I contacted support team, and we got this problem solved with them. I don't know if same fix would work with other units, but I must say that customer service handled my issue very well. 10/10 from me.

@etijburg I know your feeling very well. Almond+ was many years ahead of competition when it came out, but there has been some issues with it. On early days, there was overheating problem, that got fixed by firmware.
Also I think there is lots of things that could be done on home-automation to make it better. I wish to see IFTTT integration, and some other things, that would make almond+ even better.
