Almond Click preorders
« on: November 16, 2016, 08:25:45 pm »
I see the Almond Click is now available for preorder on the site. 3 for $30 preorder special. Full price of 3 for $50 is a bit higher than I hoped but certainly not unreasonable compared to some other options. Shipping in December, fingers crossed no delays like the 3.

One thing I would recommend they change about the actual blog posting is to add the preorder link right in, maybe where it mentions the price.

Also, preorder page kept giving me an error to match the requested phone number format, but no format was listed. I found it to be:
XXXYYYYYYY
Area code = XXX
Remainder = YYYYYYY
No spaces or other characters allowed.

Finally, the Accessories page (had to dig to find them, it is not splashed on the main page) is not great in mobile portrait mode, nor did there appear to be a learn more link for them. Screenshot attached.

It is working for me just fine in chrome on a desktop (don't know the resolution of these monitors). On chrome mobile if I click desktop view it makes it all smaller otherwise it is also jammed up. Strange, don't remember having that issue before. But I am glad the click is available for preorders, I picked up a few.

It did not prevent me from ordering. :)
Otherwise I would not have seen the phone number error. Looking forward to playing with these, or at least using a button my wife will consider acceptable for being out in the open.

I am on the fence about buying these. I think they can be extremely useful, but the current Rules interface doesn't seem to support that many use cases.

Is it an IP device or z-wave ?  Also, what's the difference between this and a dash button? I have about 6 dash buttons I am not using because I cannot use them as a toggle switch. I am not sure if the Rules interface will be updated to support this.

BTW, it just took me a few minutes to find that page. I have it in my cart and I can't click the product to go the Click page. The blog post does not mention it. The search does not show anything. On the Almond page, if I scroll down I can see the click, but it does not have Learn More. The only way I can reach it is through Ashok's post. It's almost as if Securifi does not want people to buy too many of these :-) .

Any idea if these can be used outdoors ?

Actually they are ZigBee. It seems like they would not suffer the on/off problem you can run into with Dash Buttons with the current usage. Plus, as I mentioned, my wife approves the look.

I had no issue finding them but that was a few days ago just before Ashok's post so I don't remember how I did so. I expect they will work like a HA switch but with nothing physically attached to it. They do state they can be used as a door bell, I don't know what that means for outdoor ratings however.

Any information on ETA/availability in Europe, especially Germany?

I'd love to have a cheapish zigbee button.

I'm also interested on Almond Clicks but it doesn't allow me to order them from the Securifi website.

The securifi website uses IP geolocation so if you're using an non US IP you can't order.
You need a US postal address to order anyway so I guess that's why they're doing it.

@ engr.jpc,

Once you are on our website, ensure to select country as "United States" and then try, it should work.
