Lost access to Web UI
« on: March 21, 2015, 01:24:41 am »
Hi all,

I was having difficulty accessing various devices on my network, so I tried putting my A+ into Access Point mode. This resulted in some solved problems and some new ones, as these kinds of things often do. At this point I have restored wireless connectivity with no hiccups, but have completely lost access to the Web UI. I have tried every combination of configuration I can think of, including:

- Access Point mode connected to WAN port
- Access Point mode connected to LAN port
- Router mode connected to WAN port
- Router mode connected to WAN port
- Hitting the Web UI
- SSHing into the A+
- Pinging the A+ from the command line
- Restarting the A+
- Shutting down the A+
- Going back through the setup wizard in both Router and Access Point configurations

I am able to ping successfully in Access Point mode, though not hit the web UI or SSH.
I am unable to ping, hit the web UI, or SSH in Router mode.

I am not terribly experienced in the dark arts of network management, though I definitely feel more confident after researching each of these steps over the past few weeks! What am I missing here?

Thanks,
Brian

I have "solved" the problem by restoring the router to factory settings and then setting it back up in AP Mode. I now have access to the web interface and ssh. Best guess is some combination of steps previously caused a routing issue and left me locked out without a method to fix it without the hard reset.

I am now back up and running, but if someone from Securifi is interested in trying to reproduce the issue, I'll be happy to help as far as I am able. Thanks!

Brian

When you set up your Almond+ as an access point, it gets an IP address from your main router.
You can always find the login details to the local web UI in the LCD UI under Status - Web Admin.

I appreciate it, Lars. Actually, that appeared to be working fine. According to both the LCD UI and my main router's web configuration page, the IP address had been updated appropriately. It was more like the service that runs the Almond+ web UI was no longer running. The strange part was that I was unable to ssh in as well.

Very odd, can't say this is something we've really seen. We did have some similar issues maybe six months ago. Which firmware are you on?

Yeah, no, I'm not aware of anyone else that has had problems like that with this firmware.
