I know this is very delayed... but I wanted to correct the status on here and provide more information.
The Intermatic CA9000 Motion Sensor DOES work with the Almond+. There are a number of things I would not about it, at least as of R083 (actually earlier releases, but they still exist in R083).
1) Pairing is fairly simple. To re-pair the sensor after removing it, make sure all power is removed (batteries AND plug). Then press and hold the activation button and give the sensor power again (easiest is a 9v plug, but batteries is fine). For a moment the sensor will blink the normal red light AND a white light to let you know it was reset. It should start pairing at this point. Sometimes pressing the activation button twice after this point is needed but not usually.
2) I have only been able to successfully pair it within short range of the Almond+. It SHOULD pair over the mesh network but I have never succeeded in doing so.
3) The device is supposed to work as a Z-Wave repeater when powered by a plug and not batteries. I have never seen any indication this works with the Almond+, but this is one of those things that is tough to tell in general.
4) Range is highly variable but I have NEVER gotten one to work over the mesh network and report it's status consistently. The furthest I have ever had one reach is ~20' (with 1 wall between it and the Almond+). I have 6 of them and of those one will work only if it is in the same room as the Almond+. You might note this is WELL below the 50' indoor and 100' outdoor supposed ratings for these.
5) The motion detection has a couple options. The labeling for these is on the back inside cover of the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation and the power plug because the switch controlling the setting corresponds to that. There are options for pulse and 5/10/15 minute settings. What these mean is that with pulse motion is detected and as soon as it is stops the sensor sends back it stopped. In the case of the 5/10/15 minute settings, these are how long before it will turn off the motion notice and check again. For example, if set for 10 minutes and motion is triggered the sensor will state that there is motion for 10 minutes. At the end of those 10 minutes it will check again. If there is still motion it will declare motion still. If not, it will declare no motion.
6) The activation button also turns the sensor on/off. If the button is pressed and the red LED blinks every couple seconds the motion sensor is OFF. It will not detect any motion. If pressed again, the LED will stay off and motion will be detected. Many people consider this backwards. In the case of a non-obtrusive (or semi-hidden) system this makes sense though.
7) The sensor is pretty power-hungry. If not using a power plug it will go through batteries pretty quick (not exactly sure how quick though) and especially if it is in pulse mode.
They refer to a programming document in the manual... but that document has NEVER apparently been found by anyone and has never been given out. A couple links have popped over time but they are all long dead by now. So exactly what can be programmed is something of a mystery.
