download firmware
« on: September 23, 2014, 12:16:17 pm »
Hi,

I just got my almond+ and have the problem, that the touchscreen doesn't react. I've connected my laptop by LAN and could access the webinterface and now wanted to do a firmware update. The problem is, that the link in the announcement doesn't work. How else am I supposed to download the firmware?

Thank you

@Gibheer, not sure why the link din't work for you, I just verified and its working fine for us. Anyways, you can download the file from our support website http://www.securifi.com/software-update, and go for the file which says AP2-R066-L009-W016-ZW016-ZB005 (ALMOND+)

Please don't update the firmware if the touch screen doesn't work, it'll make your Almond+ unusable. Email [suspicious]support@securifi.com[/suspicious] and we'll arrange for a replacement unit.

@amritendu I followed that link and at the end it says to download a file from google drive. Using that link, I get the following

Quote
Sorry, you can't view or download this file at this time.

Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently. Please try accessing the file again later. If the file you are trying to access is particularly large or is shared with many people, it may take up to 24 hours to be able to view or download the file. If you still can't access a file after 24 hours, contact your domain administrator.

@lars: okay, will do. Thank you

@andcesaro, we have encountered this off late, seems like a denial from Google servers because of a overwhelming number of downloads! We are looking into an alternate hosting solution on this real quick.

@Gibheer, what Lars has mentioned is true, because even if the firmware update is successful you won't be able to log into the Web UI since you won't have an access to the random default login password post the update. Replacement seems to be the best option here.

@Amritendu thank you. I am trying to use the Almond+ as range extender. Anything else I can do while you try to fix the download issue?

It looks like too many people have been downloading the firmware and Google has had enough...
We'll get another link up.
