When will the Almond+ really ship?

I wasn't able to get in on the Kickstarter deal, but have been following developments and I was able to get in on the November offer that said it would ship in December. December has come and gone and there's no sign of an Almond+.

I'm aware of the extensive delays with the Kickstarter release, but figured since that actually shipped that an offer for ordering would mean there was some stock on hand also ready to ship.

I've been excited about the Almond+ for a long time, but now I'm nothing but bummed.

Why the delay this time and when will the Almond+ *really* ship?

We got held up a bit with the holiday season and everything, but we expect to have units on sale mid-January in the US via Amazon as we've shipped the first batch there, as well as to our pre-order customers.
By the time it's available, we should have a firmware out with working automation.

That would be because we haven't shipped it to you yet. All the pre-order units will get fulfilled once they're sent from the warehouse we ship to in the US, as it's quicker to do it that way then send them one and one from Taiwan, something we learnt from shipping our Kickstarter units.

I also ordered an Almond+ from the November offer. Unlike other companies that charge upon shipping, Securifi charged my credit card almost immediately. Collecting funds four weeks prior to shipping should at least impose a responsibility to notify purchasers of delays to the promised shipping date. How long does writing a blast email take?

If I'm not mistaken from reading this topic, the possible shipping date *may* be midJanuary. (If not, the info posted is unclear.) To not notify purchasers who have been billed is negligent, to say the least. This failure speaks of confusion and/or a lack of professionalism.

I'm really sorry about this, but I'm afraid in this case, I'm just the messenger as I wasn't involved in the pre-order stuff.
I can only apologize for what has happened and I know they're doing their best to get the units to everyone as quickly as possible.

You could send an email to the crack sales department and suggest that they send a blast email to placate purchasers during the interim. That's probably preferable to having disgruntled purchasers storm the walls.

I guess you should count your blessing then. I even checked the website after reading your post.  I am thinking after waiting the 15 months past the original scheduled release, I was stupid to believe the claim that they had 500 units ready to ship. I should have just held out another month and ordered it from Amazon, I would probably have received it quicker.  When it said we would be billed prior to shipping, I don't think any of us thought they meant 6 weeks prior to shipping.
  I am amazed at all the Kickstarter units going for $120 on Ebay

UPS showed up today, but no Almond love  , just the water filters I had ordered from HD and some stuff the daughter ordered from Amazon last night.
