Netgear genie issue
« on: January 31, 2015, 08:15:27 pm »
I use wifi extender off of a netgear R7000. When I look at the devices attached to the plus all of them are discovered as an Almond plus that is the extender. the speed listed (which is high ~900 or so) seems to be of the almond plus not of the device attached to it.

The ip addresses are correct in the Genie map so I i know what is what..

When I change the IDs that works for the session but it is not remembered.  Other devices attached to the netgear directly are correctly remembered.

Is this a "bug"?

I am using the CB beta.

Is this correct ?

Will you please explain your problem little bit more clearly along with your setup information.

I use hard wire from my FIOS router to the netgear r7000. The r7000 has both its 5ghz and 2.4 ghz radios on. I use the almond plus in rage extender with the 5  gig signal from the r7000.

Netgear has a "genie" that shows each device in the network. The genie labels all the devices running from the almond plus as almond plus. The shown Mac addresses are not always correct for those devices. In all cases the speed shown is 975 . this does not vary for any of the devices and I assume the speed is the connection speed between the r7000 and the plus.

I am guess this is a problem with the "genie" but I mention  this since it may be that the plus is hiding the information in some way inadvertently.
